Known for deconstructing fabrics to create pieces that drape like a dream and feel like butter on your skin, Raquel Allegra has a truly unique style that begs to be worn. Although she been in the fashion business for less than 10 years, Raquel has quickly become one of the hottest names in the industry today.

Raquel grew up in Berkeley, California, and she and her family were not in a financial position to shop for new clothes often. So, instead of buying clothes, Raquel took matters into her own hands and continually reinvented her wardrobe by taking her old garments apart and putting them back together again in new ways.

Although she always made her own clothes, Raquel never had any desire to make a career for herself in fashion, and she felt the industry was too competitive. In fact, in the mid-2000s, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a singing career. Raquel took a job in a high-end clothing store in order to pay the rent. Raquel wore her own, handmade fashions to work, and quickly began receiving compliments from the store’s clients who wanted to know who made the garments and where they could purchase them. In response to her growing fan base, Raquel continued to make and collect garments until she finally had enough for a trunk show. Shortly thereafter, her career took off, and now Raquel is one of the most in-demand designers in the industry, and her pieces are worn by today’s biggest A-list stars and fashion icons including Heidi Klum, the Olson twins and Lady Gaga.

Raquel is most well-known in the industry for her prison-tees turned couture. She made a name for herself by collecting and recycling actual prison tees worn by inmates of the Los Angeles County Jail. Using her signature deconstruction and shredding techniques, she transforms the tees into unbelievably soft and chic wearable works of art. Because recycling and deconstructing is her M.O., in addition to used prison-tees, Raquel and her team also hand-select fabrics from rag warehouses to create their draped, flirty styles. Her collection now offers pieces featuring not only pre-worn cotton, but deerskin, linen, cashmere and French lace.

Raquel’s signature style and techniques have put her on the fashion map, and she has proven herself a force to be reckoned with in the fashion world.

Accessories are a key element in fashion and staying on trend, and they are a great way to add flair and let your personality shine through. Let’s take a look at some essential accessories that no woman should be without:

Black Pumps
Black pumps should be a staple in every woman’s wardrobe, and not just for dressy occasions. Of course they look fantastic with dresses, skirts and dress pants, but throw on a pair with your favorite jeans and instantly dress up your look. Invest in a quality pair that will last you several seasons, and make sure you opt for a pair with a closed toe to maximize versatility.

Hoop Earrings
From sweatpants to a cocktail dress, a pair of hoop earrings will work with any and every outfit in your wardrobe. Wear them to work and keep them on for happy hour cocktails, or throw them on with jeans or even lounge wear to instantly add chic, feminine flare to your look. Hoops are available in all sizes, so choose a size that matches your personality and personal style.

Colorful Scarves
One of the quickest ways to keep your look fresh is to add a colorful scarf. A bright, colorful scarf can bring vibrancy to an otherwise plain ensemble, and mixing and matching different scarves with different outfits is an easy way to continually reinvent your look.

Black Wraps
When you take the time to get ready for a wedding, cocktails or any night on the town, the last thing you want to do is cover your outfit with a coat. A simple black wrap is the perfect way to cover your shoulders and give you warmth on cool nights while still complimenting your dress, and unlike a coat, a wrap is easily transportable. Just fold it up in your purse and go!

Purses
All women need at least one purse in their collection, but it is an especially good idea to have at least one purse in every size. It is wise to have at least one clutch, one tote bag and one medium to large handbag. Use your clutch for your essentials when you hit the town, your tote for work, and your handbag for normal day-to-day life. Choose timeless colors and fabrics that will work across your wardrobe and can carry over from season to season.

Accessories add the final touches to your look, and they are meant to be fun, so don’t be afraid to accessorize and make a statement.

Though it may not feel like it, summer days are fading fast, and soon it will be time to swap sundresses for sweaters. That means it’s time again to take a look at upcoming trends for the Fall 2011 season.

When summer ends, we often tend to shove our colorful clothing to the back of our closet and bring out the grays and blacks in anticipation of cold, dreary weather. But this fall, opt for splashes of color and pull traditional autumn shades into your wardrobe such as reds and oranges. Orange was seen all over the runways during New York Fashion Week and will be a huge trend in the Fall 2011 season. If you have warm skin tones, go for deeper, burnt shades of orange, and if you have cool tones or fair skin, try corals and peaches to brighten up your wardrobe and stay on trend.

In addition to color, be on the lookout for lace, 60s and 70s inspired pieces like capes and ponchos, and the return of grunge with a glam twist. In keeping with retro-inspired looks, polka-dots will also be making a big return this coming fall in a nod to the 40s. When it comes to polka-dots, don’t be afraid of color. Have fun with bright oranges, reds and purples, and contrast your polka-dotted pieces with solid coordinates such as a solid blazer with a polka-dot top.

Fall 2011 may be the beginning of the end of skinny pants. Keeping with the 60s and 70s retro look, we will instead see more flared and even wide-legged pants making a comeback this year. For skirts, length is in. We will see a great deal of calf-length skirts and grunge glam floor length maxi skirts in dark, matte colors. Trends in tops for the season will range from slim polo-necks to chunky sweaters to pussy bow blouses, as an additional nod to retro 70s style.

When it comes to footwear, everyone loves the ease of flip-flops and other summer footwear, but there is no denying it: One of the greatest things about fall fashion is the shoes. This fall, the selection is endless. We’ll see a variety of fabrics such as reptile skins, suede, patent leather and satin. Lacing and buckles add extra flair this season, and when it comes to heels, anything goes: platforms, wedges, chunky heels or even spiked heels. If you are feeling especially fashion-forward, throw on a pair of socks and pumps to really turn heads and make a style statement.

Enjoy these last few weeks of summer, but remember, the cool days ahead are the perfect time to layer up, mix and match, and really have fun with fashion.

The charismatic sisters squeezed in a 25 Park shopping spree in between appearances on Good Morning America and The Joy Bayhar Show.

The inseparable duo spent over an hour joking around and trying on everything from bikinis to gowns, and even took pictures with excited kids who just got out of school and caught the beauties outside. This was the starlets’ third shopping spree at 25 Park boutique (SEE BELOW list of some styles the sisters picked up).

Kourtney and Khloe join the list of some of 25 Park’s stylish A-list shoppers, including Vanessa Hudgens, Kim Kardashian, Jaime Pressly, Selita EBanks, Whitney Port, Olivia Palermo, Olivia Munn and Tinsley Mortimer.

Summer fashion tends to be a reflection of a casual, carefree summer lifestyle. But this shouldn’t mean a fashion free-for-all, so it’s important to keep in mind some seasonal do’s and don’ts as we make our way towards Labor Day.

Let’s start with some don’ts:

Don’t show too much skin even though it’s summer. Summer heat is no excuse for skimpy clothing. Less is not always more, so leave a little something to the imagination when choosing your outfit. If you are going to wear a mini skirt, don’t pair it with a tube, halter or spaghetti strap top. Balance your look with a cute tee-shirt or flowy off the shoulder top. On the same token, don’t wear skin tight dresses or shiny fabrics that will cling to your body (in all the wrong places) and kick your sweat glands into high gear.

When it comes to footwear in the summer, put the Ugg boots far, far away. No matter how many celebrities you see wearing Uggs with shorts or skirts, this is a major summer fashion don’t. And as for wearing heels to the beach? Don’t try it. Trying to navigate across the sand is nothing more than an embarrassing faceplant or twisted ankle waiting to happen.

So what about some summer do’s?

DO have fun with color! Leave the darker colors for the colder months of the year. Summer is the time for bright, sunny colors to match the spirit of the season and the sunshine. When putting your outfit together, do work with layers. Layering is not just for fall and winter. It can give you options in the summer, and it’s good to be prepared with a jacket or cardigan for breezy, cooler summer nights, particularly at the beach. Just make sure you are choosing cottons and other breathable fabrics.

Your feet want to breathe in the summer, too, so do wear sandals and flip-flops. Summer footwear is one of the best things about the season. Just slip them on and go! Do, however, be mindful occasions and locations, especially when wearing flip-flops. They are not always appropriate, particularly in the workplace. Also be mindful of the appearance of your exposed feet. Make sure your sandals fit you properly. No one likes unsightly toe overhang. And keep those feet looking neat, polished and callus-free with regular pedicures.

Summer is still in full swing, so get out and have some fun in the sun, but never let fashion fall by the wayside.

On Thursday March 3rd, Vanessa Hudgens was spotted shopping in 25 Park.

Prior to her arrival, the streets in front of the shop were mayhem with the paparazzi lining up 3 deep to snag a photograph of the starlet. The staff blocked access to the store, creating a private shopping environment for Ms. Hudgens, allowing her to browse our merchandise at her leisure.

Upon her arrival, she was first greeted by a very excited 4 year old who stayed home from school just to meet her! Ms. Hudgens stayed in the store for close to two hours, engaging and entertaining her biggest little fan by having a dance contest and telling stories about her exciting life as a celebrity.

She left with $7000 worth of goodies including a Raquel Allegra Backless ivory tie dye tank dress, Current Elliot The Bell Jeans, Navar single button shorts, a Mike Gonzalez Triangle Studded Pullover and Sass & Bide The Fable Shorts. Before Vanessa left, the 4 year old asked her to have a sleepover in the Hamptons, to which Vanessa squealed she would LOVE to have a sleepover! Perhaps while these two new besties are having their sleepover, Vanessa will shop 25 Park in Bridgehampton.

The day was a total blast, and Vanessa Hudgens couldn’t have been more adorable or sweeter to her fan! She was a pleasure to work with and she left with 3 bags of new goodies. We hope she enjoyed her experience at 25 Park as much as we enjoyed having her.
